We are thrilled to share our forthcoming one-day retreat with you as we bring Priestmonk Macarius back to talk about the foundational importance in our daily spiritual lives of love, forgiveness, repentance, and confession, gleaned from his life as a monastic and confessor at Holy Cross Monastery.
On the first Saturday of the Great Lent, you will have an opportunity to dive into the topic of Stress & Mental Health from the Orthodox Perspective. Our esteemed guest speakers, Dr. Ary Christofidis and Father Athanasios Papagiannis, will unravel the topic from both the professional and spiritual perspectives. Following each speaker’s presentation, you will break out into discussion groups, led by local clergymen representing the Pan-Orthodox churches of Chicagoland.

All Orthodox Christians, and those who are curious about our faith, are invited to attend a one-day retreat jointly hosted by Saint George Cathedral and Holy Virgin Protection Cathedral. On Saturday, 9/30, four monks from Holy Cross Monastery in West Virginia will share their insights about leading a life of prayer. This community-wide event will be hosted in our Great Hall, with lunch provided by our sisterhood and volunteers. Attendance and lunch are free, but donations to Holy Cross Monastery will be gratefully accepted.
